New PhotoActive episode! We welcome Pierre Bernard, developer of the Mac application HoudahGeo, to talk about geotagging and how it’s beneficial for photographers (or even folks on vacation). Take a listen and subscribe to the podcast here: Episode 40: Location Exploration with HoudahGeo.

I was invited to participate in the last Macworld Pundit Showdown episode of 2013, and it was a lot of fun. Host Philip Michaels asks questions about the tech industry (such as, “Who will we be making fun of this time next year as the CEO of Microsoft?”), and the participants all vie for points in their answers. The show’s description gives you an idea of what to expect:
We’re about to turn the page on a new year, so there’s no time like the present to take a look back at 2013. And to join me in bidding another tearful farewell to Steve Ballmer, settling the iPad Air-vs.-iPad mini debate, and picking the best software and hardware of 2013, I’ve assembled another edition of the Macworld Pundit Showdown.
I’m joined by Macworld editorial director Jason Snell, PCWorld’s Brad Chacos, TechHive’s Jason Cross, and TidBits senior editor Jeff Carlson for this holiday-themed Macworld Pundit Showdown. Who will tally up the most points and emerge as our final champion of 2013?
Going into this one, I’d won once and placed as runner-up twice. Do I manage to even my record, or go down in flames? Listen to find out!
Hopefully you’re not sick of my voice yet: Chris. Breen invited me to talk iPad and photography on this week’s Macworld Podcast. We also went into some detail about capturing photos with the iPad and iPhone, and looked at the state of the current tech related to photographers using iPads (with speculation of what could come in the future).
I’ve had the great pleasure to do several podcasts and interviews about The iPad for Photographers, Second Edition. Last week I talked to the wonderful David Sparks and Katie Floyd for their Mac Power Users Podcast (listen to the episode here). In it, we talk about all sorts of iPad photography topics, but mostly I’m sure David just wanted some great advice before he left on vacation. (He admits to it several times.) It’s a fun conversation, and I hope you enjoy it!
I want to extend my thanks to Shawn King, who had me as a guest on his Your Mac Life show this week. We talked about the book, and what’s new in the second edition, wireless photo transfer devices, and more. We even gave a free copy of the book to a listener in Sweden! My section starts at 43:00, but you probably want to start from the beginning to listen to Jim Dalrymple. Go watch or listen for yourself:
