Hello Jeff, before I bought your book I had order my new Ipad with 64 GB after reading your book I’ve decided to get the Seagate Wireless Plus. But have the problem that I can upload raw files to the drive but the Ipad does not read the raw files from the drive, they have to be JPGs for the files to open on the tablet. Is there a way around this or am I stock with JPGs. I have downloaded RAW files to the Ipad from Itunes and no problem as you know.

Jeff, a couple of things:
1.) an I/O diagram for the iPad so that we can understand why some connections work and why others aren’t possible.
2.) whether it is possible with new wireless media drives like the Satellite Plus to finally create a combined review/backup scheme for RAW format files that needs only a transmitter on the camera, an iPad, and a hard drive. Otherwise we’re stuck shelling out $400+ for a Hyperdrive UDMA2 or buying scads of SD cards for long trips.

Dare I suggest video workflow as well? I’m loving using my iPad with my GoPro Hero 3. The app is great.

Hi Ealy,

Can you give me an example? It’s a fine line between writing about a specific topic like using the iPad for photographers and explaining how the iPad works in general. (I have a separate book, The iPad Pocket Guide, which does the latter.)
